This itinerary offers a comprehensive journey through Calabria, from the upper Ionian coast to the lower Tyrrhenian Sea, combining cultural heritage, diverse landscapes, and regional gastronomy. The program balances guided visits, scenic transfers, and free time, providing a well-rounded introduction to Southern Italy.

Starting along the Ionian coast, guests explore Calabria’s historical roots, including its Byzantine influences and unique local cultures. The journey continues through inland villages and natural landscapes before reaching the Tyrrhenian coast, known for its dramatic scenery and iconic seaside towns.

Selected experiences, such as wine tastings and regional specialties, complement the itinerary and enhance the overall travel experience, making this program ideal for groups seeking a structured and engaging overview of Calabria.

Programm*

Day 1 – Benvenuti in Calabria!
Arrival at Lamezia Terme (SUF) or Bari (BRI) Airport. Meet & greet and transfer to your hotel in Villapiana. Check in and time at leisure.

 

Day 2 – Rossano & Byzantine Heritage
Morning half-day excursion to Rossano, known for its rich Byzantine history. Visit the historic center and the renowned Codex Purpureus museum. Return to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

 

Day 3 – Civita & Arbëreshë Traditions
Half-day excursion to Civita, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages, nestled in the Pollino National Park. Discover its unique Arbëreshë culture, charming streets, and panoramic views. Return to the hotel and leisure time.

 

Day 4 – From Ionian to Tyrrhenian Coast via Pizzo
Transfer to Tropea with a stop in Pizzo. Visit the famous Piedigrotta cave church and enjoy a tasting of the iconic Tartufo ice cream. Continue to Tropea, check-in, and time at leisure.

 

Day 5 – Tropea, Capo Vaticano & Rural Wine Experience
Explore Tropea with a guided walk through its historic center. Continue to Capo Vaticano for breathtaking coastal views. Enjoy a rural wine experience at a local estate, including tastings of regional wines and Calabrian specialties.

 

Day 6 – Reggio Calabria & Scilla with Lunch
Full-day excursion to Reggio Calabria, including a visit to the National Archaeological Museum. Continue to the charming fishing village of Scilla. Traditional lunch included during the excursion.

 

Day 7 – Day at Leisure
Free day to relax or explore at your own pace. Optional experiences and excursions can be arranged on the spot.

 

Day 8 – Departure
Transfer to Lamezia Terme Airport. Check-in and departure.
