Discover Tropea, Reggio Calabria, and the authentic South of Calabria: stroll through historic towns, taste wine and olive oil at family estates, learn about the tradition of swordfish fishing in Scilla, and cook traditional pasta at a farmhouse. Cultural highlights such as Reggio Calabria with the Riace Bronzes, the Greek-speaking village of Gallicianò, the ghost town of Pentedattilo,  and the caves of Zungri make this journey an authentic experience — delightful, warm, and unforgettable.

Programm*

Day 1 – Benvenuti in Calabria!
Arrival at Lamezia Terme or Reggio Calabria Airport. Meet & greet and transfer to your hotel. Check in and time at leisure.

 

Day 2 – Tropea & Calabrian Flavors
Morning guided walking tour of Tropea, a jewel of the Tyrrhenian coast. Afterwards, visit a traditional, family-run farm to enjoy a tasting of organic local wines and a buffet of authentic Calabrian specialties.

 

Day 3 – Cultural Excursions

Full-day excursion to Gallicianò and Pentedattilo, two picturesque villages in the Aspromonte area, including a visit to a bergamot farm with tasting.

Day 4 – Olive Oil & Pizzo Calabro
Morning visit to an organic olive oil mill, including a guided walk through the olive groves and a tasting session. Continue to Pizzo for a tour of the historic center, the famous Piedigrotta cave church, and a tasting of the renowned Tartufo ice cream.

 

Day 5 – Day at Leisure
Free day for relaxation or optional excursions. (Suggested: Full-day trip to Mount Etna in Sicily or Excursion to the Aeolian Islands)

 

Day 6 – Reggio Calabria & Scilla
Excursion to Reggio Calabria and the picturesque fishing village of Scilla.

 

Day 7 – Culinary Experience & Zungri
Visit the village of Zungri and its fascinating cave dwellings. Participate in a hands-on pasta-making class in the countryside, followed by a traditional lunch.

 

Day 8 – Departure
Transfer to Lamezia Terme Airport, check-in, and departure
